How Long Should You Warm Up Your Car in Winter Before Driving Normally?

In winter, you should warm up your car for 30 seconds to 1 minute before driving normally. The correct way to warm up your car is to start the engine and wait for 30 seconds to 1 minute before setting off, but avoid driving at high speeds during this time. Maintain a low speed with the engine RPM not exceeding 3000, keeping it around 2000 RPM. Otherwise, the severe wear and tear on the engine and transmission will be irreversible. Once the engine temperature rises to the normal operating temperature, you can resume normal driving. The reason for warming up the car is that after prolonged parking, the engine oil flows back into the oil pan at the bottom of the engine. Therefore, when starting the engine after a long period of inactivity (such as overnight), the upper part of the engine is without oil and lacks lubrication.
