How long is the validity period of Shenzhen car quota?

According to Article 48 of the "Detailed Rules for the Management of Incremental Regulation of Small Cars in Shenzhen": The validity period of the quota is 6 months. Units or individuals should use the quota within its validity period. If the quota is not used within the validity period, it will be deemed abandoned. For quotas obtained through the lottery system, if not used within the validity period, the applicant will be prohibited from applying for incremental quotas for two years starting from the day after the expiration date. Renewal quotas cannot be extended: Whether the transfer can be processed on the day the quota expires depends on the vehicle management office's business appointment system. Please consult the vehicle management office. Quota and license plate are not related: According to Article 30 of the detailed rules: Units or individuals who need to renew small cars should apply for renewal quotas within 6 months from the date of completing the transfer registration, cancellation registration, or moving out of the city.
I recently helped a friend with the Shenzhen license plate quota, and it left a deep impression on me. The validity period for Shenzhen's small car quota is six months, starting from the day you obtain it. This is actually similar to Beijing and Shanghai—you get half a year to purchase a car and register the plate. If you don’t use it within six months, the quota automatically expires, and you’ll have to reapply through the lottery or bidding system. My friend almost missed the deadline but managed to extend the quota at the vehicle management office two months in advance—just by submitting some documents, he got an extra six months. So, once you get the quota, don’t delay. Contact a 4S store or an agent as soon as possible, and set a reminder on your phone to start preparing the documents at least a month before the deadline. Losing the quota is a huge loss, especially now that winning the lottery is getting harder.
