Generally, the medical examination report for driver's license renewal is valid for three months. Motor vehicle drivers should apply for license renewal at the vehicle management office of the issuing authority within 90 days before the expiration of their current driver's license. When applying, they must fill out the "Motor Vehicle Driver's License Application Form". Materials required for renewal: Bring two copies of ID card, two recent 1-inch color photos without hats, original ID card, original driver's license, and a medical examination certificate from a county-level or above hospital (free physical examination is also available at the vehicle management office). Renewal process: The motor vehicle driver submits the required materials to the vehicle management office of the issuing authority to apply for renewal. The vehicle management office will process the renewal within one working day after approval. Driving is prohibited during the overdue period, otherwise it may be treated as driving without a license. If the driver's license is overdue for less than one year, the driver can renew it at any time, but if caught driving, a fine of 200 yuan will be imposed. If the driver's license is overdue for more than one year without renewal, the traffic management department will cancel it according to the law. If the overdue period is less than three years, the driver must retake and pass the subject one exam to restore driving eligibility. Driving during this period may result in a fine ranging from 200 to 2000 yuan. If the driver's license is overdue for more than three years, it will be completely canceled. To drive again, the driver must retake the driver's license exam. Otherwise, driving will be treated as driving without a license, subject to a fine of 2000 yuan and up to 15 days of administrative detention.
