How Long Does Temporary Parking Count as a Violation?

Temporary parking at locations where parking is not prohibited is not subject to time restrictions, meaning parking for any duration does not constitute a violation. Parking is categorized into temporary parking and vehicle storage: 1. Temporary parking: The driver remains with the vehicle or stops briefly to unload goods or drop off passengers before immediately leaving; 2. Vehicle storage: The vehicle is parked and left unattended. The Road Traffic Safety Law stipulates that motor vehicles should be parked in designated areas, and parking on sidewalks is prohibited (except in legally marked parking spaces). Temporary parking on roads must not obstruct the passage of other vehicles or pedestrians. Parking in no-parking zones is considered a violation. According to Article 93 of Chapter VII of the Road Traffic Safety Law, for motor vehicles parked or temporarily parked in violation of traffic safety laws and regulations, traffic police or relevant administrative departments should first identify the illegal act, issue a verbal warning, and order the vehicle to leave immediately. If the driver is not present or refuses to leave immediately, thereby obstructing the passage of other vehicles or pedestrians, a fine may be imposed, and the vehicle may be towed to a location that does not obstruct traffic or to a place designated by the traffic management department of the public security organ.
