How long does it usually take for a beginner to drive on the highway?

Beginners can drive alone on the highway one year after obtaining their driver's license. The first 12 months after a motor vehicle driver initially applies for a driver's license is the probationary period. If a driver operates a motor vehicle on the highway during the probationary period, they must be accompanied by a driver who has held a driver's license for the corresponding or higher vehicle category for more than three years. Three important points for beginners driving on the highway under the new driving test regulations and penalties: 1. Beginners driving alone on the highway will be fined 200 yuan; 2. Failure to display a "Novice Driver" sign will result in a 200 yuan fine; 3. Accumulating 12 penalty points during the probationary period will lead to the revocation of the driver's license. Additionally, drivers holding A1, A2, A3, B1, or B2 license categories who accumulate more than 6 but fewer than 12 penalty points during the one-year probationary period will have their probation extended by one year. If they again accumulate more than 6 but fewer than 12 penalty points during the extended probation, their driving qualification for the probationary vehicle category will also be revoked.
