Normally, the process of removing the old radiator, installing a new one, adding coolant, and bleeding the air from the system takes at least two hours. It absorbs heat from the engine block to prevent overheating. Due to water's high specific heat capacity, the temperature rise after absorbing heat from the engine block is relatively small. Thus, the engine's heat is dissipated through the liquid cooling circuit, using water as a heat transfer medium. The heat is then released via large cooling fins through convection, maintaining the engine at an optimal operating temperature. Method to Check for Clogged Hoses: Fill the radiator with water and secure the radiator cap. Start the engine. Pinch the return hose halfway with one hand while revving the engine with the other hand. If the hose shows signs of collapsing when the engine speed increases, the radiator is functioning properly. If not, it indicates a blockage. This method can also be used to test the water pump's condition in a well-functioning radiator.
