New energy vehicles take approximately 1.66 hours to fully charge. The calculation method for fast charging of electric vehicles is essentially the same as for slow charging. Taking an electric vehicle with a battery capacity of 100 kWh as an example, using a standard 60 kW charging station to charge the vehicle, the calculation is as follows: 100 kWh ÷ 60 kW = 1.66 hours. Therefore, it is reasonable to say that this electric vehicle with a 100 kWh battery capacity can be fully charged in 1.66 hours. However, fast charging typically takes only 30 minutes to 1 hour: Fast charging is an emergency charging method that uses DC charging. The voltage of this DC charging is generally higher than the battery voltage, requiring a rectifier to convert AC power to DC power, which imposes higher demands on the voltage resistance and protection of the power battery pack. The charging current is large, often ten times or even dozens of times that of conventional charging currents. After using fast charging, the battery can reach 80% capacity in 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, frequent use of fast charging can consume the battery to some extent, thereby reducing its lifespan.
