NIO ES6 offers two charging modes: fast charging and slow charging. In fast charging mode, it takes 0.8 hours, while in slow charging mode, it takes 12 hours. The NIO ES6 is a mid-size pure-electric SUV under the NIO brand, featuring a five-seat layout. It comes standard with a 70KWh ternary lithium battery pack, with an optional 84KWh nickel-cobalt-manganese NCM811 battery cell. This vehicle is available in two variants: a standard version and a performance version. The standard version of the NIO ES6 is equipped with 160kW permanent magnet synchronous motors on both the front and rear axles. The performance version features a 160kW permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle and a 240kW asynchronous induction motor on the rear axle. The ES6 continues the design language of the NIO product family. Its body dimensions are 4850mm in length, 1965mm in width, and 1758mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. The suspension system consists of a multi-link independent suspension at the front and a multi-link independent suspension at the rear.
When I first started driving the NIO ES6, charging time was my main focus. Using the onboard home slow charging pile with a power of around 6.6kW, for the 100kWh battery version, charging from 0 to 100% takes approximately 7-10 hours, depending mainly on the initial battery level and ambient temperature. I usually plug it in at night and have a full charge ready by morning, without disrupting my daily routine at all. When using public fast charging stations with a maximum power of 150kW, charging from 0 to 80% takes just 30-40 minutes, and I often use this time to grab a coffee or take a walk. Overall, I find it quite convenient, especially since NIO also offers battery swap options, which take just a few minutes and are much more hassle-free than refueling. Charging costs are also low, with monthly electricity bills amounting to just a few dozen yuan. I recommend new owners make more use of home charging piles to balance their time.
