How Long Does It Take for Traffic Violation Records to Update?

According to the 'Procedural Regulations for Handling Road Traffic Safety Violations,' generally, traffic violations can be queried online within 15 days after the violation occurs. The traffic police department may send you a notice by mail, but as long as the violation can be checked online within 15 days, it is not subject to the one-month restriction. The time limit for paying the fine is within 15 days of receiving the notice. Typically, the traffic police send registered mail, so the time you receive the notice can be tracked. Legal basis: Article 88 of the 'Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China' stipulates that penalties for road traffic safety violations include: warning, fine, temporary suspension or revocation of motor vehicle driving license, and detention. Article 89 states that pedestrians, passengers, or non-motor vehicle drivers who violate road traffic safety laws and regulations regarding road traffic rules shall be given a warning or fined between 5 and 50 yuan. If a non-motor vehicle driver refuses to accept the fine, their non-motor vehicle may be impounded. Article 90 specifies that motor vehicle drivers who violate road traffic safety laws and regulations regarding road traffic rules shall be given a warning or fined between 20 and 200 yuan. Other provisions of this Law shall apply where specified.
