It generally takes about two years to learn how to repair large vehicles. Introduction: A saloon car refers to a vehicle designed to transport people and their personal belongings, with seating arranged between two axles. Including the driver, the maximum number of seats does not exceed nine. Generally, saloon cars emphasize comfort, focusing on the passengers. They also prioritize fuel efficiency, opting for engines with moderate horsepower, small displacement, and low fuel consumption. Structure: The body structure of a saloon car mainly includes the body shell, doors, windows, front sheet metal components, interior and exterior decorations, body accessories, seats, as well as ventilation, heating, cooling, and air conditioning systems. For trucks and specialized saloon cars, it also includes the cargo box and other equipment.

When I was learning to repair heavy-duty trucks, it took me over two years before I dared say I could work independently. At first, I spent six months at a technical school learning the basics—engines, chassis, electrical systems—all from textbooks. The real learning started when I entered the repair shop and worked as an assistant to the master technician. Just practicing disassembling and reassembling transmissions took three months to build up wrist strength. Heavy-duty truck parts are bulky and cumbersome, completely different from repairing small cars. New technologies like high-pressure common rail and aftertreatment systems also required specialized training. The old-timers used to say the carburetor era wasn’t this complicated. I’d recommend getting an intermediate certification in heavy truck maintenance—it gives you an edge in job hunting. Looking back now, learning on the job was the most effective, and tackling tough problems was when I improved the fastest.

Repairing heavy-duty vehicles is something that can't be rushed. The most skilled apprentice I've seen still took 18 months. The first three months were basically spent handing tools and cleaning parts, and only gradually were they allowed to touch the diesel system. The key is to follow the right mentor—a good master is willing to teach you how to read fault codes, like how to distinguish between a clogged urea pump and injector pressure leaks. During the day, you're tightening bolts with greasy hands, and at night, you have to memorize circuit diagrams—DENSO and Bosch systems operate completely differently. Specializing in trailer maintenance can be faster; air suspensions and ABS faults are relatively easier to handle. Nowadays, diagnostic tools are used more, but the real skill of identifying engine noises still takes time to hone.

It really depends on who you learn from. When I was an apprentice in a logistics fleet, my mentor directly threw a maintenance manual at me and told me to memorize the parameters first. The preload force for heavy-duty truck wheel hub bearings is ten times more precise than that of passenger cars, and even the torque wrench has to be hydraulic. Just practicing clutch plate replacement took half a month—the clutch springs on trucks are incredibly strong. Later, when I started working with new energy hybrid tractors, I had to learn everything all over again. The battery pack maintenance course alone took two weeks. I recommend preparing at least two years for systematic learning. Being able to repair diesel engines is just the foundation—now you also need to understand DPF regeneration and electric power steering systems.

What are the precautions for Subject 2?

Subject 2 precautions are as follows: Ensure adequate sleep: Make sure to get a good rest the night before the test to avoid involuntary nervousness or dizziness during the exam the next day. Mock test: The purpose of the mock test is to familiarize candidates with the exam environment and allow the instructor to point out areas prone to point deductions. Therefore, mock tests are absolutely essential—being well-prepared is the best way to face the challenge. Control speed when reversing into the garage: Don't go too slow, but don't let the car stop either. Find the reference point and reverse slowly to avoid going too fast, which may cause you to cross the line before you can turn the steering wheel back. Curve driving: The safest method during curve driving is to slow down, turn the steering wheel gradually, and observe the rearview mirror to avoid the rear wheels crossing the line.

What Causes the Humming Noise When the Car is Running?

The reasons for the humming noise when the car is running are as follows: Tensioner Pulley Wear: The function of the tensioner pulley is to keep the engine belt tight, preventing the alternator and power steering pump from slipping. Due to prolonged pressure and high-speed rotation, the bearings inside the tensioner pulley are prone to wear, resulting in noise and resonance. If the inspection confirms that the humming noise and resonance are caused by the tensioner pulley, it is also necessary to check the engine mounts, as their role is to reduce the vibration and noise generated by the engine. Exhaust Pipe Deformation: In most front-engine vehicles, the exhaust pipe runs from the bottom of the car to the rear. Driving on rough roads or hitting the undercarriage can easily cause the exhaust pipe to dent or deform. A deformed exhaust pipe increases exhaust resistance, leading to a humming noise and a sense of resonance.

How Many Days in Advance Can You Schedule the Subject 2 Driving Test?

You can schedule the Subject 2 driving test 3 days in advance (excluding weekends). This means that as long as you have completed the required training hours, you can schedule the test for as early as three days later. Whether the test appointment is successful or not, candidates will receive a corresponding SMS notification. Subject 2 Scheduling Tips: The system prioritizes applicants based on the chronological order of their business acceptance time, last test time, and last test cancellation time, with the earliest of these three dates determining the scheduling priority. Mastering these tips can make scheduling much more efficient. Subject 2 Test Content: For the C1 license, the test includes five mandatory items: reverse parking, parallel parking, hill start, right-angle turn, and curve driving (commonly known as the S-curve). Some regions may also include a sixth item: highway toll card collection. For the C2 license, the test includes four mandatory items: reverse parking, parallel parking, right-angle turn, and curve driving (commonly known as the S-curve).

What to Do When the Passat Emission Warning Light Comes On?

Start and turn off the vehicle three times in a row, or you can disconnect the negative terminal of the engine battery, wait for 30 seconds, and then reconnect it. The emission system warning light often comes on due to damage to the oxygen sensor in the three-way catalytic converter, which is mostly caused by the quality of domestic fuel. If the warning light comes on and the vehicle cannot start after being turned off, this is usually due to a malfunction in the fuel pump or ignition system. In such cases, call for a tow truck directly. If the light comes on while driving, immediately reduce speed and drive to the nearest repair service station for inspection.

How to Remove Paint Overspray?

You can use a high-efficiency paint remover to wipe away paint spots on the car window glass. Wear gloves and a mask before use, and shake the product well. Avoid direct contact with skin. If accidentally splashed into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If inhalation causes vomiting, seek medical attention immediately. Take out a clean cloth or lint-free towel and spray the cleaner onto the towel. Use the towel sprayed with cleaner to repeatedly wipe the paint spots on the glass. After wiping clean, rinse the car glass with water and then wipe it dry with a clean towel. This will remove the paint spots on the window.
