How Long Can the Annual Inspection Be Postponed?

Vehicle annual inspections cannot be postponed, and even a one-day delay will result in penalties. Annual inspections can only be conducted in advance, not delayed. Driving with an expired inspection is illegal. Article 49 of the "Regulations on the Registration of Motor Vehicles" clearly stipulates: The owner of a motor vehicle may apply for an inspection compliance mark at the vehicle registration authority within three months before the expiration of the vehicle's inspection validity period. Before applying, the owner must resolve all traffic violations and accidents related to the vehicle. Relevant details are as follows: 1. For passenger transport vehicles, inspections are required once a year within the first 5 years. After 5 years, inspections are required every 6 months. 2. For cargo vehicles and large or medium-sized non-passenger transport vehicles, inspections are required once a year within the first 10 years. After 10 years, inspections are required every 6 months. 3. For small and micro non-passenger transport vehicles, inspections are required once every 2 years within the first 6 years. After 6 years, inspections are required once a year. After 15 years, inspections are required every 6 months.
