Motorcycles must undergo inspection once every 2 years within the first 4 years; after exceeding 4 years, they must be inspected annually. If a motorcycle fails to obtain the motor vehicle inspection compliance mark for 3 consecutive inspection cycles after the expiration of its inspection validity period, it will meet the mandatory scrapping standard. Article 16 of Section 1, Chapter 2 of the Implementation Regulations of the Road Traffic Safety Law stipulates that motor vehicles shall undergo safety technical inspections according to the following periods from the date of registration: passenger vehicles for commercial use must be inspected once a year within the first 5 years; after exceeding 5 years, they must be inspected once every 6 months. Trucks and large or medium-sized non-commercial passenger vehicles must be inspected once a year within the first 10 years; after exceeding 10 years, they must be inspected once every 6 months; small and mini non-commercial passenger vehicles must be inspected once every 2 years within the first 6 years; after exceeding 6 years, they must be inspected once a year; after exceeding 15 years, they must be inspected once every 6 months. Article 4 of the Mandatory Scrapping Standards for Motor Vehicles stipulates: Registered motor vehicles that fail to obtain the motor vehicle inspection compliance mark for 3 consecutive inspection cycles after the expiration of their inspection validity period shall be mandatorily scrapped. The owner shall sell the motor vehicle to a scrapped motor vehicle recycling and dismantling enterprise, which shall carry out registration, dismantling, destruction, and other processes in accordance with regulations, and submit the scrapped motor vehicle registration certificate, license plate, and driving license to the traffic management department of the public security authority for cancellation.
