How long after failing the first attempt at Subject 3 can you reschedule the test?

If you fail the first attempt at Subject 3, you can reschedule the test after 10 days. According to the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driver's Licenses" (Ministry of Public Security Order No. 139), after passing Subject 1 and obtaining the "Learning to Drive Certificate," small (large) vehicles must wait 10 (20) days before applying to schedule Subject 2, and 30 (40) days before applying to schedule Subject 3. You can take Subject 2 before Subject 3 or vice versa; you can also schedule both Subjects 2 and 3 consecutively. For all test subjects, if you fail the first attempt, you can retake it once for free on the same day. If you fail the retake, you must reapply to schedule the test. The minimum waiting period for rescheduling any subject is 10 days. If you fail the test five times, all previous test results become invalid, and you must reapply for the exam. Subject 3 test precautions: According to the Ministry of Public Security's requirements for driver examinations, each candidate has two attempts per scheduled test. If the first attempt is unsuccessful, you can retake it immediately. During the first attempt, candidates must complete the vehicle inspection walk-around and nighttime light simulation. If the first attempt fails, the second retake does not require these steps—you can start the second test directly after preparation. If the first attempt fails, the test items in the parking area will begin after completing the route walk-around. The starting point of the test can be anywhere along the test route. Candidates must complete all 16 test items before finishing and uploading the results. (Note: Candidates taking the daytime test must complete the nighttime light simulation, while those taking the nighttime test will not be evaluated on this item.)
Failing the driving test is quite common, don't panic! I failed my first attempt at Subject 3 (Road Test) on the parking maneuver, and my instructor told me I could reapply after just 10 days. Regulations vary slightly by region, but most require a 10-20 day waiting period, mainly to give you time for more practice. Make sure to check the 'Traffic Management 12123' app for updated test records—the system only opens the rescheduling option after officially recording your failure. I refreshed the app daily and successfully booked an early morning slot on the 12th day at midnight. Strongly recommend staying in touch with your instructor—they know the test center's scheduling patterns and can help you choose less competitive time slots for higher success rates. Using the waiting period to focus on weak areas is definitely worthwhile.
