How long after expiration can a small car driver's license still be renewed?

A small car driver's license can be normally renewed if it has been expired for less than one year. If the license has been expired for more than one year but less than three years without renewal, the driver must take a written test at the vehicle management office. Upon passing the test, normal renewal can be resumed. If the license has been expired for more than three years, the vehicle management office will cancel the license. Documents required for renewal: Driver's license renewal application receipt, original driver's license, and the applicant's identity proof. The renewed license can be collected either by mail or by the applicant or their authorized agent at the issuing window of the vehicle management office. For authorized agents: The application form must be signed by both the applicant and the agent, along with the original and a copy of the agent's identity proof. If the agent is a non-local resident, they must also provide the original and a copy of the residence or temporary residence permit issued by the local public security authority. Copies must be in A4 size, and both sides of the second-generation resident ID card and residence permit must be copied.
