How Long After Car Touch-Up Paint Can It Be Exposed to Rain?

After the car touch-up paint is completed, it can be exposed to rain immediately; because after car painting, it is usually dried by moderate high-temperature baking. The precautions for car touch-up painting are as follows: Primer: Before spraying the clear coat, the base material must be thoroughly dried; otherwise, the paint surface may lose its gloss. Color Paint: For quick repairs, single-component color paint must be used. Clear Coat: The spraying pressure should not be too high (2-2.5KPa). Each layer should rest for 1-2 minutes, depending on the surrounding temperature during spraying—the lower the temperature, the longer the resting time, and vice versa. The spraying thickness should be 1.5-2 layers, not too thick, otherwise, it may not dry easily. After spraying the clear coat, it must rest for 5 minutes before baking. Baking: The distance between the UV lamp and the part should be 20-25CM. If the distance is too far, the curing will be too slow; if the distance is too close, the curing will be fast but the shrinkage will also be fast, which may easily cause orange peel texture and loss of gloss. For convex, concave, and curved parts, the angle of the baking lamp should be adjusted according to the shape to ensure no areas are missed.
