It takes one year or more. As long as the drunk driver holds a valid driver's license, clears the penalty point record, and has no further penalty points in the new year, they can register for Didi qualification in the following year and start driving for Didi normally. According to Article 68 of the 'Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses,' if a motor vehicle driver accumulates 12 penalty points within a scoring cycle, the traffic management department of the public security authority shall confiscate their motor vehicle driving license. The driver must, within 15 days, attend a seven-day study session on road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge at the traffic management department where the license was issued or where the violation occurred. After completing the study, the vehicle management office must conduct an examination on road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge within 20 days. If the driver passes the exam, the penalty points will be cleared, and the driving license will be returned. If the driver fails, they must continue studying and retake the exam. Those who refuse to study or take the exam will have their driving license suspended by the traffic management department of the public security authority.
