Edge Plus 2021 has excellent curb weight. In terms of configuration: The configuration is quite rich. The infotainment system performs impressively, with relatively comprehensive features that cater well to the needs of younger drivers. It includes LED headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto hold, active grille shutters, and a rearview camera—features that are not low-end. This model also comes with an automatic engine start-stop system. In terms of power: The 2.0T engine is fully capable, with good acceleration performance. Even when fully loaded, the power remains ample, and acceleration is effortless. However, the high-speed acceleration in the latter stages is slightly lacking.
I've driven the 2021 Edge Plus, and its curb weight is approximately between 1950 to 2000 kilograms, which is close to two tons. As someone who enjoys studying vehicle performance, I believe this weight mainly comes from the rigid body materials and high-configuration safety equipment, making it heavier than many SUVs of similar size. During driving, this weight provides a very stable feeling at high speeds, reducing the tendency to drift when cornering, thereby enhancing safety. However, the downside is that it feels a bit slow when starting in the city, and the fuel consumption is slightly higher, with a combined urban fuel consumption possibly around 11 liters. Fortunately, the suspension is well-tuned, making long-distance driving less tiring. In terms of daily maintenance, the heavier weight demands more from the tires and braking system, so regular checks are recommended to extend their lifespan.
