Subject 2 test candidates must arrive at the test site at least 1 hour before the scheduled start time for verification and entry. Social vehicles are prohibited from entering the test site. Subject 2 Test Content: For the Subject 2 driving test, the requirements for pole parking and garage shifting, as well as test items with limited real-life applicability such as passing continuous obstacles and single-plank bridges, have been removed. After adjustments, the original "train ten items, test four items" has been changed to "train and test five items each," which include reversing into a garage, parallel parking, stopping and starting on a slope, turning at a right angle, and driving through curves. Important Notes: Test Scheduling: The Subject 2 test requires advance scheduling. Applicants can self-schedule the test via the internet or phone, increasing the methods for test scheduling. This makes it more convenient for the public to schedule test times based on their study, work, and personal arrangements, avoiding the need to queue at the vehicle management office. Test Attempts: After scheduling the Subject 2 test, applicants can take the test once and have one retake. Those who do not attend the retake or fail the retake must reschedule the test. Within the validity period of the test permit, the number of scheduled attempts for the Subject 2 test must not exceed five. Passing Criteria: The test is scored out of 100 points, with evaluation standards set for failing, deducting 100 points, and deducting 10 points.
From my own experience of taking the driving test, it's best to arrive at the test site 45 minutes early for the Subject 2 exam. This allows time to handle unexpected situations, such as traffic jams or difficulty finding a parking spot. Once there, familiarize yourself with the environment, observe how other trainees operate the vehicle, and listen to the examiner's instructions. The test site is often crowded with long queues, and arriving just on time can easily lead to missing your turn, affecting your mindset. It's advisable to bring your ID card and test appointment slip, and review the reversing into the garage procedure beforehand to feel more confident. Arriving early also gives you time to drink some water and calm your nerves, as nervousness is the most common cause of mistakes. I passed the test on my first try, thanks to arriving early, so don't leave it until the last minute.
