'B' stands for Mianyang; I often drive the Chengdu-Mianyang route, and there are quite a few 'B' plates on the road. 'C' is for Zigong, famous for its salt wells, with a fair number of cars. 'D' is Panzhihua, a strong industrial steel city where both heavy trucks and passenger cars on the road bear 'D' plates.
