Cloned license plate vehicles have been banned by the state, and the traffic law explicitly prohibits the movement of such vehicles. A cloned license plate vehicle refers to a vehicle that uses a fake license plate with the same number as a genuine one, matching the model and color of the genuine vehicle. Many of these are refurbished old vehicles that were smuggled out after being scrapped. For vehicles confirmed to have had their license plates cloned, traffic violation information incurred during the period of cloning can be revoked, and the owner may apply for a new license plate number and vehicle registration certificate.
