Has the Toyota Prado Been Discontinued?

Toyota Prado has been discontinued. In June 2020, FAW Toyota officially ceased production of the Prado. Relevant details about the Prado are as follows: Vehicle Positioning: The Prado is an imported ORV launched by FAW Toyota, the latest model in the Toyota Land Cruiser series. Powertrain: The Prado is equipped with a 2.7L naturally aspirated engine, paired with either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. Suspension: It features a non-load-bearing frame with a front double-wishbone independent suspension and a rear four-link suspension structure, enhancing the vehicle's torsional and bending rigidity. It comes standard with large 265/65R17 tires, combined with Toyota's four-wheel-drive system and a central differential lock, ensuring both off-road capability and on-road comfort.
I heard from a friend about the discontinuation of the Toyota Prado and looked into it. Indeed, the domestic version of the Prado was discontinued in 2020, mainly due to the implementation of the China 6 emission standards. Many off-road enthusiasts were quite disappointed at the time, as the Prado had always been a reliable companion on the Sichuan-Tibet routes. However, when I visited a dealership earlier this year, the salesperson mentioned that the new generation of the domestic Prado had already been launched, with a more rugged appearance and a hybrid system, starting at over 400,000 yuan. Interestingly, the used car market became more active after the discontinuation of the old model, with 10-year-old vehicles still fetching over 100,000 yuan. Actually, it's normal for cars to be updated and replaced, just like when the Land Cruiser LC100 was discontinued, it also caused regret, but new models always bring surprises.
