The rear seat vibration issue of Song Plus DM-i has not been resolved. Additional information is as follows: Advantages: Green license plate, exempt from purchase tax, no license plate restrictions, hybrid fuel and electric use, and DC fast charging (the only one in the world). Low fuel consumption and low electricity consumption (low energy consumption) result in lower charging costs. No transmission, smooth acceleration, and no jerky feeling when switching between the motor and engine. The vehicle starts silently. The exterior is attractive, and the interior materials are solid. The rear seat space is spacious. Disadvantages: Poor rear seat sound insulation; the trunk depth is not large enough; no spare tire (a common issue with new energy vehicles, except for the Yuan EV rear-mounted version); wireless charging issues: slow charging, overheating, and the charging area is not visible when the phone is placed inside (the phone's automatic brightness will be very dim), etc.
Regarding rear seat vibrations in the BYD Song Plus DM-i, based on my own experience and discussions with fellow owners, the issue appears to have been optimized. Early models purchased last year commonly exhibited slight vibrations in the rear seats when the engine started, attributed to factors such as imperfect hybrid system transition logic or insufficient suspension tuning. Subsequently, the manufacturer addressed this through OTA software updates and service campaigns, including adjustments to engine control strategies, which reduced vibration frequency. Owners of post-2023 models report significantly improved conditions, and dealerships can now provide hardware inspections such as engine mount replacements if needed. If vibrations persist, it's advisable to seek professional diagnostics promptly. Additionally, discussing hybrid vehicle maintenance essentials—like regular tire pressure checks, brake system inspections, and avoiding forceful engine starts at low battery levels—can enhance overall ride comfort.
