Has the EQC been domestically produced?

EQC has been domestically produced, and the vehicle has been manufactured by Beijing Benz. This is a luxury mid-size pure electric SUV under the Mercedes-Benz brand. The EQC is a dual-motor model with very powerful performance. The combined power of the front and rear axle motors is 300 kW, with a total torque of 730 Nm, and it is equipped with an electric all-wheel-drive system. The EQC uses ternary lithium batteries across the entire lineup, which are also used in most pure electric vehicles due to their higher energy density and lighter weight. The front suspension of the EQC features a double-wishbone independent suspension, while the rear suspension uses a multi-link independent suspension. The dimensions of the EQC are 4774 mm in length, 1923 mm in width, and 1622 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2873 mm.
I've been researching the Mercedes-Benz EQC for a long time, and it has indeed been localized for production in China, primarily through the Beijing Benz joint venture. Local manufacturing began as early as around 2020, which excites me because as an electric vehicle enthusiast, I've seen prices drop significantly after localization—about more than 10% cheaper than the imported version—while maintaining the same quality. The Beijing Benz factory has optimized the battery system and suspension tuning for the Chinese market, making it more suitable for urban driving conditions and quicker to maintain. This not only makes luxury electric vehicles more affordable for more Chinese consumers but also shortens the supply chain and reduces carbon emissions during transportation, benefiting the environment. I've test-driven the locally produced version and found the ride smooth, with charging supported by the local network—an overall smart strategy. In the future, Mercedes-Benz will localize more EQ models, which is worth keeping an eye on for car fans.
