Has the Emgrand GS Been Discontinued?

The Geely Emgrand GS has been discontinued, with the latest model before discontinuation being the 2020 version, which included six variants positioned as compact SUVs. The 2020 Emgrand GS had body dimensions of 4440/1833/1573mm and a wheelbase of 2700mm. It was equipped with two engine options: a 1.4T and a 1.5T turbocharged engine, delivering maximum power outputs of 104kw and 130kw, maximum horsepower of 177ps and 141ps, and maximum torque of 255NM and 235NM, respectively. The 1.4T engine was paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed CVT, while the 1.5T engine was matched with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The 2020 Emgrand GS featured a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout, with a MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear suspension, utilizing a unibody construction. Standard equipment across the range included tire pressure monitoring, rearview camera, full-speed adaptive cruise control/cruise control, alloy wheels, keyless start system, 6-speaker audio, LED daytime running lights, automatic air conditioning, and an in-cabin PM2.5 filter. All models except the 1.4T manual Ya Life variant came equipped with a power sunroof.
I recall that the Emgrand GS was indeed discontinued, probably around 2020. This crossover SUV was quite popular back then, offering ample space with a sporty touch. After driving it for several years, I found it had relatively few minor issues. Its successor now is the Emgrand S, which features a more youthful design and upgraded interior, such as a larger infotainment screen and better seat support. If you come across an Emgrand GS in the used car market, the price is quite reasonable—you can get a well-maintained one for around 60,000 to 70,000 yuan. However, be aware that spare parts for discontinued models may have longer supply cycles compared to current models, especially for less common components which might require pre-ordering.
