Does washing the car key in water have any impact?

Washing the car key in water does have an impact. Car keys are not waterproof. If the key gets wet, you should promptly disassemble it and use tissues and a hot air blower to remove the moisture inside. This prevents the internal circuit board from corroding or oxidizing due to prolonged exposure to water, which could lead to damage. If handled promptly, the key can still be used. Handling method: 1. After retrieving the key, do not immediately press any remote functions on the key fob, as the chip inside the wet key may short-circuit and burn out; 2. Use clean tissues to absorb surface water, then open the key and remove the power supply for the circuit; 3. Use a cotton swab or anhydrous alcohol to clean the circuit board. Ninety-five percent concentration alcohol, available at pharmacies, can be used as anhydrous alcohol has strong moisture-absorbing properties; 4. Use the cold air setting of a hairdryer to blow the circuit board clean; 5. Reassemble the key as it was originally.
