Does Volvo Burn Engine Oil?

Volvo does not burn engine oil. Engine oil naturally has a certain level of consumption, but excessive consumption can lead to oil burning issues. There are two main factors that affect oil burning: 1. Cold engine oil burning: When the car's temperature has not fully warmed up, the engine exhaust emits significant blue smoke, but it returns to normal after the engine warms up. This phenomenon is caused by aging valve stem seals. Due to the drop in temperature, the rubber material of the valve stem seals hardens, preventing a complete seal. 2. Hot engine oil burning: Even after the car reaches normal operating temperature, the exhaust continues to emit blue smoke. This indicates poor sealing of the piston rings. Due to inadequate piston ring sealing, engine oil leaks directly into the combustion chamber through the gaps in the piston rings under the pressure of the oil pump and burns.
