Does tire patching affect driving safety?

Tire patching does not affect driving safety if the tire is only slightly punctured on the surface. However, if the tire surface is cut more than 70mm or the puncture depth exceeds 50mm, it will affect driving safety. Additionally, if the puncture is on the sidewall of the tire, patching may still impact driving safety because the sidewall is relatively weak and may crack even after repair, posing a risk of tire blowout. The following situations warrant tire replacement: 1. Considering that normal tires have a 5-year service life, it is advisable to replace tires that have been punctured after prolonged use. 2. Based on the usual wear and tear of the tire, the presence of cracks on the tread, and the extent of the puncture, it is recommended to replace the tire directly if the puncture exceeds 70mm rather than opting for patching.
