Does the Tharu have 4WD?

The Tharu is available in a 4WD version. According to the official introduction from SAIC Volkswagen, the 4WD version of the Tharu adopts a full-time four-wheel-drive system and is equipped with a multi-plate clutch central differential lock. Therefore, the 4WD Tharu has excellent off-road capability and high stability during high-speed driving. Relevant details are as follows: 1. Compared to two-wheel-drive vehicles, vehicles equipped with a 4WD system are more stable during high-speed driving, generally avoiding phenomena such as fishtailing or skidding, making them easier to control and improving driving safety to a certain extent. 2. Due to the higher manufacturing cost and greater weight of the 4WD system, vehicles equipped with it are generally more expensive, with higher maintenance and repair costs, and higher fuel consumption.
When I first bought the Tharu, I also struggled with the 4WD question. This model does indeed have 4WD versions, called the 330TSI 4WD Luxury Edition and Flagship Edition. They are equipped with Volkswagen's 4MOTION permanent all-wheel-drive system, which distributes power via a central multi-plate clutch. You might not notice much difference in daily driving, but on rainy slippery roads or rural dirt paths, the 4WD's grip is noticeably more stable. However, fuel consumption is 0.5-1L/100km higher than the 2WD version, and the price is 20,000-30,000 RMB more expensive. If you mainly drive on highways or for urban commuting, the more economical 2WD version is completely sufficient. If you want to check, just look for the '4MOTION' metal badge on the rear trunk.
