Does the Start-Stop Function Damage the Engine?

The start-stop function does not damage the engine. The start-stop function is a system that automatically turns off the engine when the vehicle comes to a temporary stop during driving and restarts the engine when moving forward again. Its working principle is as follows: when the brake is pressed to stop and the gear is disengaged, the system automatically detects that the engine is idling and not in gear, the speed sensor shows zero, the battery sensor indicates sufficient energy, and the engine automatically stops rotating. When the clutch is pressed, the brake is released, or the steering wheel is turned, the system quickly restarts the engine. The method to turn off the automatic start-stop function is to press the start-stop button. Situations where the automatic start-stop function should be turned off include: 1. Congested road sections; 2. Going uphill or downhill; 3. When the air conditioning is in cooling mode; 4. Driving through waterlogged areas; 5. Low-speed parking.
