The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has three taillights, with three light strips being a feature of the later models from 2018 to 2020. As of April 27, 2020, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class models include the S320L, S350L, S450L, and S500L. These four models of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class also use different engines. The engines used in these four models are respectively a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with low power. Among them, the S320L and S350L still feature a V6 turbocharged engine, while the S450L and S450L 4MATIC are equipped with a high-power tuned V6 turbocharged engine. The new L6 engine will be installed in the S500, while the higher-spec S560 will feature a 4.0L V8 engine. In terms of the powertrain, it boasts a maximum power of 270 kW (367 PS) at 500 rpm and a maximum torque of 500 Nm at 1800-4000 rpm with the 3.0L V6 turbocharged engine, paired with Mercedes-Benz's self-developed 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission.
