The Malibu XL does have a 1.5T model, equipped with a 1.5T top-mounted direct-injection turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum power of 124kW and a peak torque of 250Nm. It is paired with General Motors' first-ever 9-speed automatic transmission. The Malibu XL is positioned as a mid-size sedan, with body dimensions of 4933mm in length, 1854mm in width, and 1473mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2829mm. In terms of suspension, the Malibu XL features a front MacPherson independent suspension and a rear multi-link independent suspension. Exterior-wise, the Malibu XL adopts Chevrolet's new family-style front fascia design, combining a U-shaped grille with a honeycomb front grille. The headlight design somewhat resembles the style of the current Buick Excelle GT.
