Does the Lincoln Adventurer have a particulate filter?

Lincoln Adventurer has a particulate filter. The particulate filter is a ceramic filter installed in the diesel engine's emission system, which captures particulate emissions before they enter the atmosphere. Function of the particulate filter: The particulate filter can reduce soot produced by diesel engines by more than 90%, and the captured particulate emissions are subsequently burned off during vehicle operation. Principle of the particulate filter: The diesel particulate filter is coated with metals such as platinum, rhodium, and palladium. The black smoke containing carbon particles emitted by the diesel engine enters the engine's exhaust particulate trap through a dedicated pipeline. After passing through its densely arranged bag-type filter, the carbon smoke particles are adsorbed on the filter made of metal fiber felt. When the adsorption of particles reaches a certain level, the burner at the end automatically ignites and burns, turning the adsorbed carbon smoke particles into harmless carbon dioxide and releasing it.
I've been driving the Lincoln Corsair for two years, and all the China 6b versions come with a particulate filter installed in the middle section of the exhaust pipe. It's essentially like a sieve for the exhaust, specifically designed to capture PM2.5 and those black smoke particles. When you're stuck in traffic and driving at low speeds for extended periods, the dashboard will display a warning. Don't panic when this happens—just drive on the highway for a while to let the exhaust temperature rise to around 500 degrees, and it will automatically burn off the particles. Remember to use 95-octane fuel; the dealership mentioned that low-quality fuel with high sulfur content can easily clog the filter. Once, I forgot to refuel after driving in the suburbs, and the yellow warning light came on. The mechanic said the regeneration failed and had to be manually cleaned, costing me over 800 yuan.
The particulate filter has now become a standard feature in new cars, and the Lincoln Adventurer has been equipped with it since the 2020 model. The principle is to trap soot particles through a ceramic filter element. However, this may lead to two issues: first, increased exhaust backpressure can cause the throttle to feel sluggish, especially noticeable as power lag when the engine is cold; second, frequent short-distance driving can lead to clogging, requiring a regeneration process of driving above 2500 RPM for 20 minutes. Our repair shop has encountered several cases where the oxygen sensor failed due to severe clogging, and replacing the entire assembly costs around 4,000 RMB. Therefore, it's advisable for owners to check the exhaust backpressure value every other month.
