Does the Lavida have a navigation system?

The Lavida does not come with a built-in navigation system; the navigation systems found in the car are all installed after leaving the factory. The navigation system features a GPS global satellite positioning system, allowing drivers to always know their exact location while driving. GPS technology utilizes GPS satellite signal reception, enabling continuous 24-hour reception of data parameters sent by satellites to calculate the receiver's three-dimensional position, three-dimensional direction, movement speed, and time information. The Lavida is a sedan produced by Shanghai Volkswagen, with dimensions of 4605mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1460mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2610mm. The front face of the car cleverly employs horizontally extending design elements, significantly enhancing the vehicle's lateral presence. The dynamic and smooth curves of the front end, especially the refined and bold chrome radiator grille and the crystal-clear diamond headlights, convey a sense of striking power, embodying the vibrant characteristics of the new era.
I've owned my Lavida for over two years now, and before purchasing, I thoroughly researched the configuration differences. The base model Lavida usually doesn't come with navigation, with models like the Fashion edition still using a standard radio system. However, mid-to-high trim levels are different - Comfort edition and above generally come with an 8-inch touchscreen featuring the factory-installed navigation system. Last time when I accompanied a friend to pick up their Lavida 280TSI Luxury edition, the salesperson demonstrated the navigation function on-site, and the positioning was quite accurate. To be honest though, more people nowadays prefer using CarPlay with mobile navigation apps, since apps like Amap can provide real-time traffic updates. My suggestion is to directly check the configuration manual when purchasing, or ask the 4S dealership to demonstrate the infotainment system functions on-site.
My 2018 Lavida didn't come with factory navigation, just a small screen on the dashboard. Later, I spent 1,500 yuan at a modification shop to install a 10-inch touchscreen along with an AutoNavi in-car navigation system, which works almost as well as the factory version. The newer Lavida models have made significant improvements. For example, the 2023 model released last year comes standard with the MIB system across all trims. The base model might use the MIB 2.5 system, which has a smaller screen but includes built-in navigation. If you have the budget for a higher trim, you get the MOS 3.2 Smart Connectivity System, which not only has navigation but also supports voice control. However, Volkswagen charges for map updates, so using free navigation via smartphone connection might be more practical.
