Does the Hongqi H5 have a particulate filter?

Hongqi H5 has a particulate filter. Function of the particulate filter: The particulate filter can reduce soot produced by diesel engines by more than 90%, and the captured particulate emissions are subsequently burned off during vehicle operation. Application technology of the particulate filter: The particulate filter utilizes advanced electronic control systems, catalytic coatings, and fuel-additive catalysts. Principle of the particulate filter: The diesel particulate filter is coated with metals such as platinum, rhodium, and palladium. The black smoke containing carbon particles emitted by the diesel engine enters the engine exhaust particulate trap through a dedicated pipe. After passing through its densely arranged bag-type filter, the carbon soot particles are adsorbed onto the filter made of metal fiber felt. When the adsorption of particles reaches a certain level, the burner at the end automatically ignites and burns, turning the adsorbed carbon soot particles into harmless carbon dioxide that is then expelled.
Speaking of the particulate filter in the Hongqi H5, based on my years of automotive repair experience, most Hongqi H5 models are gasoline-powered, and gasoline vehicles generally don't require such a device. Particulate filters are primarily designed for diesel engines to capture fine particles in exhaust emissions, such as harmful PM2.5. The common 1.5T and 1.8T engines in the Hongqi H5 are inherently designed with catalytic converters to handle emissions, fully compliant with China's National VI standards, making additional installation of this component unnecessary. If the vehicle were a diesel version, then a particulate filter might be present, but diesel-powered Hongqi H5 models are extremely rare and practically non-existent in the market. During regular maintenance, inspecting the exhaust system and maintaining clean fuel are crucial to prevent carbon buildup from affecting performance. Should the filter become clogged, the vehicle might experience reduced power and increased fuel consumption, but gasoline vehicle owners don't need to worry about this at all—just drive with peace of mind.
