Does the Fuel Injector Need Cleaning?

Fuel injectors need to be cleaned regularly. The fuel injector is one of the key components of an electronically fuel-injected engine, and its working condition directly affects the engine's performance. However, many car owners overlook the cleaning of fuel injectors or believe that they only need cleaning after long intervals. They may not realize that even slight clogging of the injector can severely impact the vehicle's performance. The principle of fuel injectors in electronically fuel-injected cars: A fuel injector is essentially a precision solenoid valve. When the solenoid coil is energized, it generates suction, lifting the needle valve to open the injection hole. Fuel is then sprayed at high speed through the annular gap between the needle valve head and the injection hole, forming a fine mist that promotes complete combustion.
After driving for over twenty years, I've found that regular cleaning of fuel injectors is absolutely crucial. When gasoline quality is poor, impurities and carbon deposits tend to clog the injectors, making the engine struggle for breath. The symptoms are obvious: sudden spikes in fuel consumption, and the car jerking and trembling when accelerating. I recommend cleaning them every 30,000 kilometers or so, especially if you do a lot of short-distance city driving. The cleaning process is simple—just spend around 100 yuan at a repair shop, and after cleaning, the acceleration becomes much smoother. Don't put off cleaning; hardened carbon deposits will make replacement parts even more expensive. Adding fuel system cleaners helps somewhat, but it's no match for direct cleaning. Nowadays, new cars even come with self-cleaning systems. Maintaining this habit saves fuel and keeps your mind at ease.
