Does the ETC device need charging?

ETC devices do require charging. For solar-powered ETC devices, you can park the vehicle under sunlight for several hours to charge the device. For ETC devices without solar panels, you can use a dedicated power cable connected to the cigarette lighter socket for charging. Currently, there are two power supply modes for ETC devices: one uses solar panels for charging, while the other employs wired charging. Both types of ETC electronic tags contain internal batteries. Solar-powered ETC devices don't require additional charging during normal driving, with their lithium batteries typically lasting 3 years under regular use. However, for those who don't frequently use ETC, it's recommended to charge the device every 3 months to effectively mitigate the impact of natural battery discharge on its lifespan.
