Toyota CHR doors do not automatically lock after exiting the vehicle. Under factory settings, the C-HR is not equipped with an automatic locking function. If you wish to enable this feature, it can only be achieved through aftermarket installation. Methods to enable automatic locking: There are three types of car doors: forward-opening doors, reverse-opening doors, and horizontally sliding doors. Forward-opening doors can still be closed by the pressure of airflow while the car is moving, making them safer and more convenient for the driver to observe the rear when reversing, hence widely adopted. Reverse-opening doors, if not tightly closed while driving, may be forced open by oncoming airflow, thus used less frequently, generally only to improve entry/exit convenience or for ceremonial purposes. Horizontally sliding doors have the advantage of being able to fully open even when the side of the car is close to an obstacle. Via OBD interface: Currently, the most common method in the market for Toyota C-HR to add an automatic locking function is by directly plugging into the OBD interface to enable the locking feature. It is usually plug-and-play, requiring no wiring harness connection or system matching, which greatly enhances the convenience for vehicle owners during use.

As a Toyota C-HR owner, I frequently use the walk-away auto lock feature, which is really convenient. Every time I get out of the car and walk a few steps away, about three or four meters, the doors automatically lock without me having to take out the key or press any buttons. This function is achieved through the smart key system—when the key is a certain distance from the car, the sensors automatically lock it. The benefit is that it eliminates the hassle of forgetting to lock the car. For example, when I'm in a hurry to go grocery shopping, I don't have to worry about the doors being unlocked and potential security risks. However, there are two things to note: first, the key must be on your person; if left in the car, it prevents accidental locking. Second, there might be a setup requirement—you may need to enable the auto-lock option in the central control screen. I had to configure it once when I bought the car. Overall, this feature saves a lot of time in daily use, and I feel the C-HR's design is very thoughtful. I recommend new owners try it out. If it doesn't respond, check if the key battery is low—regular maintenance can prevent unexpected issues.

From a technical perspective, the CH-R's walk-away auto-lock feature relies on collaboration between the smart key and vehicle sensors. When the person carrying the key moves beyond a preset distance (typically around 3-5 meters), the sensors detect signal weakening and trigger the door-locking mechanism. This system utilizes RFID technology, eliminating manual operation while enhancing anti-theft performance. The advantages are clear: it prevents the risk of forgetting to lock and saves time. As for drawbacks, signal interference environments (such as underground parking garages) may cause delays or misjudgments. I recommend that owners develop the habit of taking a step back to check if doors are locked rather than relying entirely on the system. Additionally, verify whether the auto-lock setting is enabled through the dashboard menu. Replacing old batteries with new ones ensures stability. Considering the overall experience, this feature is a highlight for modern vehicles, but don't overlook the importance of regular maintenance.

As an average driver, I find the Toyota C-HR's walk-away auto-lock feature quite reliable. When I walk a few steps away after exiting the car, it locks automatically, which is both convenient and secure. This function operates via key fob detection, automatically engaging the locks when the preset distance is reached, eliminating the issue of forgetting to press the lock button. The main advantage is reduced theft risk, especially providing peace of mind when parking in unfamiliar locations. One important note: ensure the key isn't left on the seat, otherwise the system won't activate. For new users, it's advisable to test whether the setting is enabled and listen for the locking sound confirmation in noisy environments. Overall, it significantly improves daily convenience.

What are parallel imported cars?

Parallel imported cars refer to vehicles that are purchased by traders from overseas markets and introduced into the Chinese market for sale without the authorization of the brand manufacturers. Below is an introduction to the advantages of parallel imported cars: 1. Significant price advantage: Parallel imported cars bypass sales channels such as general distributors, regional distributors, and 4S stores, eliminating many intermediate links. 2. Advantage in models and delivery time: Sometimes, after new cars are launched overseas, they may not be available in China due to the strategic planning of some car manufacturers or domestic certification issues. 3. Richer model configurations: The ability to purchase overseas models not available in China is also an advantage of parallel imported cars.

What model engine is used in the Kodiaq?

The Skoda Kodiaq is equipped with Volkswagen's EA888 series 1.8T and 2.0T engines. Here is some relevant information about the Skoda Kodiaq engine: 1. Skoda Kodiaq engine: The stability and safety of the car body are also quite good compared to other aspects. 2. Features like the anti-scratch strips on all four doors and the dual glove compartments on the passenger side provide ample space, ensuring that commonly used items can easily find a place. 3. In terms of interior materials, it may not be considered high-end, but Skoda has done an excellent job in craftsmanship and detail handling. However, the dashboard remains mechanical, and there is no heads-up display, likely to differentiate its configuration from the Tiguan.

At what voltage below 24V will the engine fail to start?

24-volt batteries below 21 volts cannot start the vehicle, while above 22 volts can generally start the vehicle. Here are the relevant details: 1. Voltage: The starter motor requires sufficient current and voltage. If the battery is depleted, causing the voltage to drop too low to start the vehicle, a new battery replacement is necessary. 2. After starting the engine: The engine drives the generator, which powers electronic devices and recharges the battery. During charging or discharging, ions in the battery move through the electrolyte, and some ions undergo chemical reactions with the electrolyte as they move.

Is a Dash Cam Useful at Night?

The night vision performance of dash cams varies. While dash cams are useful at night, their night vision capabilities are generally poor. Here are the reasons for the poor night vision performance of dash cams: 1. Plastic cover on the lens: The lens of the device is usually covered with a plastic film. Some car owners may not remove this film carefully during installation, leaving it on the lens. This can result in unclear video recordings, especially in low-light conditions at night, leading to poor recording quality. 2. Dust accumulation on the dash cam lens: A significant amount of dust on the lens can negatively impact the clarity of the recordings.

How to Deal with Gasoline Entering the Engine Oil Tank?

The solution to gasoline entering the engine oil tank is to replace the oil in the tank and refill it with the same brand of engine oil. Below is some relevant information about car engines: 1. The engine, which provides power for the car, is the heart of the vehicle and affects its power, fuel efficiency, and environmental performance. Depending on the power source, car engines can be categorized into diesel engines, gasoline engines, electric motors for electric vehicles, and hybrid engines, among others. 2. Common gasoline and diesel engines are both types of reciprocating piston internal combustion engines, which convert the chemical energy of fuel into the mechanical energy of piston movement to output power. Gasoline engines have high rotational speeds, are lightweight, produce less noise, are easy to start, and have lower manufacturing costs. Diesel engines, on the other hand, have higher compression ratios, greater thermal efficiency, and better fuel economy and emission performance compared to gasoline engines. 3. In addition to using gasoline and diesel, vehicles that utilize other new energy sources are referred to as new energy vehicles. These include pure electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, fuel cell vehicles, gas-powered vehicles, bioethanol/biodiesel vehicles, and hydrogen-powered vehicles. In the Chinese market, most new energy vehicles available for sale are hybrid vehicles, but pure electric vehicles have now been identified as the primary focus of development.
