Does the China VI Honda Fit have a particulate filter?

The China VI Honda Fit is equipped with a particulate filter. The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is a ceramic filter installed in the diesel engine's emission system, which captures particulate emissions before they enter the atmosphere. Its function is to filter out tiny particles in the exhaust gas. When a certain amount of particles accumulates, it automatically burns off the captured particles, thus achieving a cyclic operation. The diesel particulate filter can effectively reduce particulate emissions. It first captures the particulate matter in the exhaust gas and then oxidizes the captured particles to regenerate the filter. The so-called filter regeneration refers to the fact that during long-term operation of the DPF, the gradual increase of particles in the filter will cause an increase in engine backpressure, leading to a decline in engine performance. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically remove the deposited particles to restore the DPF's filtration performance. A clogged particulate filter can reduce vehicle power. Some vehicle models will automatically reduce the power output of the diesel engine if they detect a clogged particulate filter. At the same time, the increased exhaust resistance will also weaken the vehicle's power performance.
I've been driving the China VI Fit for almost a year, and I can personally confirm that this model is indeed equipped with a particulate filter. It's primarily designed to meet the China VI B emission standards, installed in the exhaust pipe section. For daily city commuting, there's no noticeable difference, but if you frequently take short trips or get stuck in traffic jams, the dashboard might display a warning light indicating a blockage. In such cases, I usually take it onto the highway for about half an hour, keeping the RPM above 3000 for automatic cleaning. The dealership mentioned that the maintenance cycle for this system differs from regular cars—spark plugs need more frequent replacement, and low-ash engine oil must be used. They particularly advised northern owners to be extra cautious during winter, as low temperatures make blockages more likely.
