Boyue has an automatic locking function. Functions of automatic locking: The purpose is anti-theft. The car can be locked quickly after driving to prevent door-pulling robberies during traffic jams or at red lights, providing a certain level of security. At the same time, it protects child passengers inside the car, preventing young children from opening the door handle while the car is moving. Disadvantages of automatic locking: The central lock is a combination of mechanical and electronic devices. In case of an accident, if the electronic equipment fails, passengers inside the car can open the lock and escape. However, if the occupants inside are unconscious, rescuers outside may waste more time opening the door.

My own Boyue has an auto-lock function, but it requires manual activation to take effect. When I drove it for the first time after picking it up, I noticed the doors didn’t automatically lock when the speed exceeded 20 km/h. Later, I found the "Vehicle Settings" option in the infotainment screen’s settings menu and toggled on the "Auto-Lock While Driving" switch. Once enabled, I could hear a crisp locking sound every time the car accelerated past 20 km/h. If you’re driving an older Boyue model, remember to check the specs sheet—some lower trims don’t have this feature. However, all new Boyue models come with it as standard, given that even cars priced around 70,000 to 80,000 yuan now typically include auto-lock.

This feature is particularly important when taking kids out, and fortunately, the Boyue can automatically lock the doors. Once the speed exceeds 20 km/h, the doors will automatically lock to prevent children from accidentally opening them. However, a reminder: if there are kids in the back seat, remember to manually activate the child safety lock, as the auto-lock alone isn’t enough. You can enable the "Auto Lock While Driving" option either through the multifunction buttons on the right side of the steering wheel to access the settings menu or via the vehicle settings on the central display. Once, while picking up my child from school, they suddenly tried to pull the door handle at a red light—thankfully, the auto-lock prevented an accident. To unlock the doors when parked, simply press the unlock button on the driver’s side door or shift into P mode.

Nowadays, most domestic SUVs come with automatic locking, and the Boyue is no exception. However, the owner needs to enable this function manually as it is not activated by default in new vehicles. Navigate to the vehicle safety settings in the central control panel and turn on the automatic locking switch while driving. The doors will automatically lock when the speed exceeds 20 km/h, and they will unlock automatically in case of a collision to facilitate escape. In practice, this feature is quite user-friendly: when briefly stopping and opening the door, the doors will relock upon starting again; there's no need to manually lock the doors repeatedly when picking someone up temporarily. The doors will also unlock automatically when the engine is turned off after parking, or they can be unlocked manually by pressing the button when in P mode. It is recommended to enable this function as soon as you get the car for both safety and convenience.
