The Avancier does not have a hybrid version; the entire lineup consists of pure gasoline-powered models. The Avancier is a mid-size SUV under the Honda brand, with dimensions of 4858 mm in length, 1942 mm in width, 1670 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2820 mm. The Avancier is equipped with two engines: a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The 1.5-liter turbocharged engine delivers 193 horsepower and a maximum torque of 243 Nm, while the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine produces 272 horsepower and a maximum torque of 370 Nm.

I've previously researched the Honda Avancier, and in the domestic market, the Avancier doesn't have a hybrid version. It only comes with two turbocharged gasoline engines: a 1.5T and a 2.0T. Actually, I'm quite puzzled. A hybrid version of such a large SUV like the Avancier would be quite appealing. Look at its siblings, the Odyssey and Accord, which already have hybrid options. Honda might think the 2.0T engine is powerful enough and doesn't need a hybrid, or it could be pricing considerations. But if you're particularly keen on a hybrid SUV, you might want to check out the Breeze Hybrid. Its i-MMD system is indeed fuel-efficient, averaging just over 5 liters per 100km in city driving, and the power delivery is smooth.

Last month, I accompanied a friend to test drive the Avancier and specifically asked the salesperson about the hybrid version. I was clearly told that there are no hybrid options across the entire lineup, only gasoline versions. The salesperson mentioned that this is mainly because the Avancier is positioned as a sporty and luxurious model, with the 2.0T+9AT combination emphasizing driving pleasure. Actually, hybrid technology would be particularly suitable for this midsize SUV – the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, for example, has been very successful, offering both fuel efficiency and quiet operation. Honda's third-generation i-MMD system used in the CR-V has also received positive feedback. If Avancier ever releases a hybrid version, I'd probably be among the first to test drive it.

From a technical perspective, the Avancier currently does not offer a hybrid model. The versions available on the market are purely gasoline-powered: the 1.5T with a CVT transmission focuses on fuel economy, while the 2.0T paired with a 9AT leans more toward performance. The absence of a hybrid system in the Avancier is somewhat regrettable, especially since Honda's i-MMD technology has proven highly successful in the Accord, delivering quick acceleration and low fuel consumption. The reason might be cost-related—adding a hybrid system could increase the price by 20,000 to 30,000 yuan. Given the Avancier's already premium pricing, there may be concerns about consumer acceptance. If you're keen on a Honda hybrid SUV, I'd recommend considering the new CR-V Hybrid. It's slightly smaller in size but shares the same technology.
