The 2021 Passat, 330TSI and 380TSI versions do not have a particulate filter. A particulate filter is a ceramic filter installed in the exhaust system of diesel engines, which captures particulate emissions before they enter the atmosphere. It can reduce the soot produced by diesel engines by more than 90%, and the captured particulate emissions are subsequently burned off during vehicle operation. Diesel engine pollution mainly comes from three sources—particulate emissions, hydrocarbons (HCx), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and sulfur. Among them, particulate emissions (soot) are mostly composed of tiny particles of carbon or carbide (size less than 4-20μm). How the particulate filter works: The diesel particulate filter is coated with metals such as platinum, rhodium, and palladium. The black smoke containing carbon particles emitted by the diesel engine enters the exhaust particulate filter through a dedicated pipe. After passing through its densely arranged bag-type filter, the carbon soot particles are adsorbed onto the filter made of metal fiber felt. When the adsorption of particles reaches a certain level, the burner at the end automatically ignites and burns, turning the adsorbed carbon soot particles into harmless carbon dioxide that is then expelled. To check whether the 2021 Magotan 330 has a particulate filter, you can use the following three methods: Check the and to see if there is a particulate filter function. Additionally, you can carefully review the fault codes in the manual to see if there is a "particulate filter" fault light indicator. Check the label above the oil filler cap. If the oil cap clearly states 0W-20 grade oil, it means the vehicle is equipped with a particulate filter. Check whether there is a cylindrical section on the exhaust pipe behind the three-way catalytic converter. If there is, that is the particulate filter.

What are the reasons for a strong gasoline smell inside the car?

Reasons for a strong gasoline smell inside the car: 1. The fuel tank cap is not sealed properly, requiring replacement or applying a 1mm-thick layer of grease under the rubber gasket; 2. The removal and installation of the fuel pump must be done inside the car, and during this process, some residue may inevitably remain. If not cleaned thoroughly, you may also smell gasoline while driving. Next to the fuel filler hole, there is a vent hole for gasoline vapors. Its function is to release gasoline vapors when the car's fuel tank heats up. When this vent hole is blocked, the evaporated vapors cannot be released and may escape elsewhere, leading to a gasoline smell in the cabin.

How to Open a Volkswagen Car Key?

Steps to open a Volkswagen car key: First, pop out the mechanical key, insert a screwdriver into the gap on the side of the mechanical key, twist to pry it open, then rotate and pry open the shell on the side with the electronics, remove the circuit board, and replace the new battery. Volkswagen remote keys mostly use CR2032 batteries. During the use of the remote key, you may encounter situations where the car remote key does not respond when pressed. This could be due to the remote key's battery running out or the car's receiving antenna aging. There are three working modes for car remote keys: active working mode, passive working mode, and coil induction mode. The body dimensions of the Volkswagen Lavida are 4670mm in length, 1806mm in width, and 1474mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2688mm.

Can Scratched Wheel Hubs Be Repaired?

Scratched wheel hubs can indeed be repaired. Wheel hub scratches are generally categorized into surface scratches and rim edge scratches. In either case, a portion of the wheel hub's clear coat is stripped away. Without this protective clear coat, prolonged exposure can lead to oxidation and corrosion of the wheel hub's surface. If the damage reaches the aluminum alloy base of the wheel hub, it may become irreparable and unsafe for use. Particularly, corrosion resulting from unrepaired rim edge scratches can cause poor sealing between the wheel hub and tire, leading to slow air leakage and compromising safety. When cleaning wheel hubs, avoid using wire brushes to prevent surface damage; instead, opt for softer brushes or specialized wheel hub cleaning brushes.

What Causes the BMW 7 Series New Car to Make Noise When Turning?

BMW 7 Series new car making noise when turning can be caused by friction between plastic parts, friction between the steering column and floor mats, or insufficient lubrication of the steering column leading to high friction. Friction between plastic parts: Especially in new cars, the steering wheel is composed of various plastic components. If the gaps between these parts are too small, friction will occur when turning the steering wheel. This usually resolves after a break-in period. If the noise persists, try reassembling the steering wheel. Friction between the steering column and floor mats: This is a common issue, mainly caused by oversized aftermarket floor mats (such as full-coverage mats) coming into direct contact with the steering column. Adjusting the position of the floor mats or replacing them can solve the problem. Insufficient lubrication of the steering column, leading to high friction: Poor-quality sliding rings on the steering column can cause noticeable friction noises, such as rustling or squeaking sounds. Applying some mechanical grease can help alleviate this issue.

What is the Three-Way Catalytic Converter?

The three-way catalytic converter is located at the front end of the engine exhaust pipe, between the front and rear oxygen sensors. Here is some relevant information: 1. Function of the three-way catalytic converter: As the most important component in the exhaust gas purification system of gasoline vehicles, it is responsible for the catalytic reduction of harmful gases in the exhaust, such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), and nitrogen oxides (NOx). It converts these three main harmful gases into non-toxic and harmless substances: water (H₂O), carbon dioxide (CO₂), nitrogen (N₂), and oxygen (O₂), which are then discharged. 2. Lifespan of the three-way catalytic converter: The condition of the three-way catalytic converter affects the engine's power, idle stability, and fuel consumption. Its lifespan is approximately 80,000–100,000 kilometers for domestic standards, while it is generally 160,000–200,000 kilometers for international standards. Typically, the three-way catalytic converter should be cleaned every 30,000 kilometers. Of course, if any malfunction symptoms appear, cleaning can be performed in advance.
