Does replacing a BMW electric water pump require matching?

Replacing a BMW electric water pump does not require matching. Electric water pump bleeding method: First, fill the coolant to the maximum level and open the radiator cap. Then insert the key, turn on the ignition switch to power on, but do not start the engine. Next, set the air conditioning to heating mode and adjust it to the highest temperature, with the fan speed at the lowest setting. Press the accelerator pedal all the way down for about 10 seconds, and you will hear the sound of the electric water pump working. The pump will run for a while to expel the air from the engine. Precautions: Bleeding the electric water pump must be done when the engine is cold. When the coolant temperature is very high, it is strictly prohibited to open the radiator cap or drain valve to prevent burns.
As a friend who often tinkers with BMWs, I recently helped a buddy replace an electric water pump. This thing really needs computer matching; it's not just plug-and-play. BMW's electric water pump is controlled by the engine computer for speed regulation. If the new pump isn't matched, the computer won't know how to control its operation. I connected a diagnostic tool to the car's system, navigated to the electric water pump option, and ran the matching program—it only took about three minutes. Without matching, the most obvious issues are difficulty starting when the engine is cold, abnormal fluctuations in the temperature gauge, and in severe cases, the fault light may come on. Actually, many BMW repair shops skip this step, resulting in problems within a week and the need for rework. Remember to test-drive after matching to check if the cooling fan is running and if the water temperature is stable.
