Does Motorcycle License Demerit Points Affect Car License?
1 Answers
Yes, it does affect. Currently, both licenses are integrated into one. Regardless of whether it's a motorcycle or car violation, demerit points are deducted from the same license. Points deducted for motorcycle violations are counted against the driver's license score. If a motorcycle violation results in demerit points, it won't affect obtaining a driver's license. However, when registering a new car, if the motorcycle owner's name matches the car owner's name, it will impact the registration process. The motorcycle violations must be cleared first. Additional Information: Demerit Points System: Refers to the traffic police departments recording corresponding points based on the severity of the violation when penalizing motor vehicle drivers for violating road traffic laws, regulations, and rules. Depending on the severity of the violation, the points deducted at one time are categorized into five levels: 12 points, 6 points, 3 points, 2 points, and 1 point.
