The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 12th batch of new energy vehicle promotion and application recommended models catalog in 2020, which includes the domestically produced Tesla Model Y. Therefore, the Model Y will be exempt from purchase tax. The Model Y is positioned as a mid-size SUV, available in Long Range and Performance versions, with optional 5-seat and 7-seat layouts. In terms of power, both the Long Range and Performance versions are equipped with dual motors (all-wheel drive), with a maximum range of 505/480 kilometers and 0-100 km/h acceleration times of 5.1/3.7 seconds, respectively.
