Does Mazda have MPV models?

Mazda does have MPV models. There are two MPV models under Mazda: the Mazda8 and the Mazda5. The Mazda8 is available both as an imported model and a domestically produced model, while the Mazda5 is only available as an imported model. The domestic version of the Mazda8 is equipped with two engines: a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 2.3-liter naturally aspirated engine. The 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, codenamed L5, has a maximum power of 120 kW, a maximum torque of 226 Nm, a maximum power speed of 6000 rpm, and a maximum torque speed of 4000 rpm. The 2.3-liter naturally aspirated engine, codenamed L3, has a maximum power of 113 kW, a maximum torque of 205 Nm, a maximum power speed of 6500 rpm, and a maximum torque speed of 4000 rpm.
Of course Mazda has made MPVs! Their most famous model was the Mazda5, which truly understood family needs with its convenient sliding doors for easy access, flexible three-row seating layout, and a trunk spacious enough for a stroller. Later, they also introduced the upscale Mazda8, equipped with a 2.5L naturally aspirated engine, renowned for its top-tier noise insulation in its class. However, genuine Mazda MPVs have virtually disappeared from the global market now, with even domestic production in Japan discontinued a couple of years ago. Personally, it’s a shame—their signature 'Jinba Ittai' (horse and rider as one) driving dynamics would have been quite unique in an MPV. For instance, the steering feedback was much more direct than the Odyssey's.
