Does Insurance Cover Flooded Vehicles?

Whether insurance covers flooded vehicles depends on the following situations: If the vehicle is parked and gets submerged: With comprehensive coverage, the insurance company will provide full compensation. If the vehicle is flooded while driving: For commercial auto insurance purchased before September 19, 2020, full compensation is available if both comprehensive coverage and water damage coverage are purchased; if only comprehensive coverage is purchased, the compensation amount will be significantly reduced. For auto insurance purchased after September 19, 2020, full compensation is available as long as comprehensive coverage is purchased. If the vehicle stalls in water and is restarted: In this case, even with insurance coverage, it is not eligible for compensation.
