Does Insurance Cover Engine Stalling in Water?

Yes. Insurance companies normally cover engine stalling due to water submersion, but they will not compensate if the vehicle is restarted after stalling. Condition 1 for Water Damage Insurance Coverage: During heavy rain or flooding, if the insured vehicle's exhaust pipe or intake pipe is submerged in water, and the driver continues to start the vehicle or attempts to start it by inertia. Condition 2 for Water Damage Insurance Coverage: Starting the vehicle without necessary repairs after experiencing heavy rain or flooding. Condition 3 for Water Damage Insurance Coverage: In the event of an incident covered under the additional insurance, the insurer will compensate for necessary and reasonable expenses incurred by the insured or their representative for rescue and protective measures to minimize the vehicle's loss. The maximum compensation amount for such expenses is limited to the insured amount under the vehicle loss insurance.
