Does Idling with Air Conditioning On for an Hour Damage the Car?

Idling with the air conditioning on for an hour can damage the car. Engine Idling: When the engine is idling, the throttle is in a nearly closed state, resulting in minimal air intake. The engine operates in a fuel-rich injection mode, leading to relatively more carbon deposits due to the overly rich mixture. If the air conditioning is turned on, additional power is required. Severe Carbon Buildup: To prevent the engine from stalling, the idle speed is typically increased by about 50 RPM. This low-speed operation under load results in even more carbon deposits. Severe carbon buildup can impair oil lubrication, cause engine knocking, clog the catalytic converter and oxygen sensors, and create a vicious cycle that worsens the engine's condition, ultimately leading to serious engine failure.
