Installing floor mats or trunk mats in a new car does not affect the vehicle registration. Interior decorations are permissible as long as they do not compromise driving safety. According to Article 16 of the "Regulations on the Registration of Motor Vehicles," the owner does not need to apply for modification registration under the following circumstances, provided that safety and license plate identification are not affected: 1. Installation of front and rear anti-collision devices on small and micro passenger vehicles; 2. Installation of windshields, water tanks, toolboxes, spare tire racks, etc., on cargo vehicles; 3. Addition of interior decorations to motor vehicles. Extended Information: Article 7 of the "Regulations on the Registration of Motor Vehicles" stipulates the following documents required for registration: 1. Identity proof of the vehicle owner; 2. Proof of vehicle origin, such as the purchase invoice; 3. Vehicle manufacturing qualification certificate or import certificate for imported vehicles; 4. Proof of payment or exemption of vehicle purchase tax; 5. Proof of compulsory traffic accident liability insurance for motor vehicles; 6. Proof of payment or exemption of vehicle and vessel tax.
