Coasting in neutral does affect the transmission of an automatic car. The reasons are: 1. When idling, the engine's oil pressure output is low, resulting in insufficient lubrication supply, which can easily cause poor lubrication and severe wear of components such as the hydraulic directional valve and planetary gears; 2. It generates a large amount of heat, leading to oil carbonization and sludge formation, which can block oil passages and result in insufficient oil supply and poor lubrication after normal operation. The gear positions of an automatic car are: 1. P (Park) position is for parking and starting; 2. R (Reverse) position is for reversing; 3. N (Neutral) position is for neutral; 4. D (Drive) position is for forward movement, also known as the driving gear; 5. S (Sport) position is for sport mode; 6. L (Low) position is for low speed.

What to Do When Your Car Breaks Down on the Road?

Park on the roadside, turn on the hazard lights, and set up a warning sign. After identifying the problem with the car, try to move it to the side of the road and make relevant warnings. If you know some car knowledge, you can attempt to repair it first. If the problem is minor, drive to a suitable repair shop. If you can't solve it, wait for assistance. If the car's problem is significant, notify a nearby repair shop to arrange for a tow truck. Before traveling, you should conduct a comprehensive inspection of the car.

How to Thread a Stitched Steering Wheel Cover?

Place the steering wheel cover over the steering wheel, then pass the needle through the inner stitching of the cover. Tie a dead knot, then pass the needle through the outer stitching of the cover and pull it tight. Hold it in place before stitching the next part; do not pull tight immediately. First, pinch the steering wheel cover with your hand to loosen the thread slightly before pulling tight. Repeat these steps to complete the process.

How to Drive an Automatic Car Up a Long Slope?

Pay attention to the tachometer on the dashboard. When the RPM drops below 1000, press the brake with your right foot and release the handbrake with your right hand. Shift the gear from P to D. P stands for Parking gear, while D is the Drive gear. (Note: Keep your right foot on the brake at this time.) If the slope is very steep, quickly release the brake and apply the accelerator promptly, with a slightly stronger throttle input. Also, ensure there are no obstacles ahead to prevent rear-end collisions.

How to Replace Coolant for Volkswagen Magotan?

Before replacing the coolant, be sure to wait 10 minutes after the vehicle is turned off. Check the pipes for any signs of leakage or cracks, and inspect the five-way water pipe. Use a wrench to loosen the screw at the bottom of the radiator and use a waste fluid pan to catch the old coolant. Cover the expansion tank cap with a thick towel and slowly loosen it until the pressure is completely released, then fully remove the cap. Use a compressed air blower or a thick towel to pressurize at the expansion tank's water filling port.

Correct Driving Steps for Manual Transmission Cars?

Press the clutch pedal all the way down with the sole of your foot, then prepare to start the engine. Move the gear lever left and right to check if it's properly engaged. Adjust the side mirrors so that the door handles are visible at the sides, and the horizon (on level ground) appears at the upper 1/3 of the mirror. First turn on the left turn signal, check the rearview mirror, confirm it's safe to start, depress the clutch, quickly find the friction point (bite point), then you can start moving.

How to Test Engine Cylinder Compression?

Before measuring cylinder compression, remove all spark plugs and place the reset-to-zero gauge probe into the spark plug hole of the cylinder being tested. Observe and record the value indicated by the gauge's first needle movement. Release the starter to reset the gauge needle to zero. Repeat the measurement. If inconsistent readings occur between measurements, lower values indicate the piston did not start during optimal intake and compression phases.
